Hotel Association of Puri – Membership Rules

1. Eligibility for Membership

  • Any hotel, resort, guesthouse, or lodging establishment operating within the boundaries of Puri is eligible to apply for membership.
  • The establishment must be registered with the local authorities and comply with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • The establishment must adhere to the association’s code of conduct and ethical guidelines.

2. Application Process

  • Prospective members must submit a completed application form along with necessary documentation, including business registration, licenses, and proof of compliance with local regulations.
  • The application must be accompanied by a non-refundable processing fee, as determined by the association.
  • The Executive Committee will review the application and conduct a site visit if necessary. Approval of membership is at the discretion of the committee.

3. Membership Categories

  • Regular Membership: Open to all hotels, resorts, and guesthouses with more than 20 rooms.
  • Associate Membership: Open to smaller lodging establishments, such as guesthouses and homestays, with fewer than 20 rooms.
  • Honorary Membership: Awarded to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to the hospitality industry in Puri.

4. Membership Fees

  • Annual membership fees are determined based on the category of membership and the size of the establishment.
  • Fees must be paid in full at the beginning of each membership year. Failure to pay fees within 60 days of the due date will result in suspension of membership.

5. Rights and Privileges of Members

  • Members have the right to attend and vote at General Meetings.
  • Members can participate in association events, training programs, and marketing initiatives.
  • Members receive regular updates on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Members can display the association’s logo on their promotional materials and website.

6. Obligations of Members

  • Members must adhere to the association’s code of conduct and uphold the highest standards of hospitality and customer service.
  • Members must comply with all local, state, and national regulations governing the hospitality industry.
  • Members are expected to participate actively in association events and initiatives.
  • Members must promptly notify the association of any changes to their establishment’s status or contact information.

7. Code of Conduct

  • Members must treat guests, employees, and fellow members with respect and fairness.
  • Members must ensure their establishments are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Members must avoid any practices that could harm the reputation of the association or the hospitality industry in Puri.

8. Disciplinary Actions

  • The Executive Committee has the authority to investigate any complaints or violations of the membership rules.
  • Disciplinary actions may include warnings, fines, suspension, or termination of membership, depending on the severity of the violation.
  • Members have the right to appeal disciplinary actions to the General Meeting.

9. Termination of Membership

  • Membership may be terminated voluntarily by providing written notice to the association.
  • Membership will be automatically terminated if the establishment ceases operations or fails to renew its membership.
  • Terminated members must cease using the association’s logo and promotional materials immediately.

10. Amendments to Membership Rules

  • The membership rules may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote at a General Meeting.
  • Proposed amendments must be submitted in writing to the Executive Committee at least 30 days before the General Meeting.
